Rafael Castillo Ramirez born in Costa Rica in
1959.
Juan Castillo initiates his artistic career in the decade of 70's.
From his beginnings when he was a student his paintings have been exposed in the best museums and galeries of Costa Rica.
Through his techniques in the art known as primitive art or Naif art he uses all the possibilities to mix lines, surfaces, volumes and colors, which gives to his work a different concept from art and an unique style.
He likes Costa Rican tradition and captures in his paintings the simplicity of the rural life in this country, a life of nature and work.
