v1.0 – 1992

The history of the first gallery of art in Latin America in Internet initiates in the ninety decade; when the world-wide web was hypothetically in diapers and where the access to the latest technology was not yet stablished in the main countries of the world.

In 1992; Octubre 8 starts a breach in the computer world that grouped the arduous work of the company iCR, S.A. (Internet Costa Rica, S.A.) and different professionals from the University of Costa Rica that in an amalgam of ideas with the artists founders of the gallery, conciliated the first version of the website which resided at http://www.icr.co.cr/octubre8

With any doubt, Octubre 8 has made history as a gallery, it has made history in the artistic field in Costa Rica, and in this first electronic instance reached the memories of the engineers of long ago who even wait for the blink of that "eye" that saw the light on a day like this 12 years ago.

v2.0 – 2000

Eight years later, Octubre 8 decided to renew his digital essence and starts a process to decide which company has the capacity to create the new version of Octubre 8's website. This second version causes a great commotion in the argot of the Art in Costa Rica.

v3.0 – 2003

The third version of Octubre 8 in the net was a visual modification of the previous web site, where it was tried to give a renewed image to the web site, initiating with the layout of those services and/or sections that could lead this virtual presence in a datum point again.

v4.0 – 2004 (Currently)

The fourth version of Octubre 8 in the net, sees the light in the third week of May of year 2004, where the no scrimp in expenses of production; the ability and disposition of the consulting company, and with the artistic endorsement that any work of the Gallery implies, leave clear once again that the passion to the art is the baton in our work.

Making a chronological and objective summary on which is the present version of octubre8.com, is an advance; not to think about a prognosis, despite in this opportunity the web site it was developed with a completely interactive vision and where the most alive colors of our works rest, mixed with the impact and subtility of the most new technologies Web.

(http://www.abdicar.com), company that impelled by the history of octubre8.com in the net, arranged in great magnitudes of logistic and time, giving rise to which we could call the true version of XXI century of Octubre 8.
